AODA Training (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) is mandatory training for employees and employers in Ontario, Canada. The purpose of the training is to ensure that individuals understand how to make their services, workplaces, and facilities accessible to people with disabilities, in accordance with the AODA.
This course provides an overview of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and equips participants with the knowledge and skills required to ensure accessibility and inclusivity in the workplace and public spaces. It covers the key standards outlined in the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR), including customer service, employment, information and communications, transportation, and design of public spaces.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to
Understand the purpose and key components of the AODA and the Human Rights Code.
Recognize different types of disabilities and appropriate communication methods.
Apply accessible customer service practices.
Identify accessibility requirements in hiring, workplace accommodations, and public spaces.
Ensure compliance with IASR standards and reporting obligations.
Ensures that your organization meets the legal requirements under the AODA
Helps foster an inclusive, respectful environment for both customers and employees with disabilities.
